The city has been host to various sports competitions such as Palarong Pambansa, Batang Pinoy, SMRAA, and the BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games. It is equipped with Olympic-standard sports complex. It has a rubberized track, swimming pool, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts.

 


The General Santos City Gymnasium located at Tiongson St., Lagao, General Santos City can accommodate 7,000 people and is home to the SocSarGen Marlins of the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA). The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) considers the GSC Gymnaium as the alternate venue for provincial sorties.
